Golf courses near Victoria Square

The house is a classic 1880s Victorian sandstone villa situated in the peaceful and prestigious King’s Park area of Stirling. Close to the City centre and situated in the shadow of Stirling Castle overlooking the tree lined Victoria Square; it could not be in a better location. Easily commutable to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Gleneagles and the Trossachs, Victoria Square is an ideal base for the tourist and business traveller alike.

King’s Park takes its name from when it was literally the King’s park during the medieval and middle ages when Stirling Castle was both a military fortification and home for the Scottish royal family. The area occupied by the existing park, golf course and the grand Georgian and Victorian period houses was the King’s hunting ground.

Scotland is the home of golf and there is plenty to be had in the local area. Victoria Square sits only 200metres from Stirling Golf Club. This is one of the oldest courses in Scotland, the current course was designed by Tom Morris and the club formed in 1869. However, the course sits within the Royal Park and it recorded that King James IV played golf in the Park in 1505.

If you looking for golf of the very highest quality Gleneagles is only 20 minutes away. Other nearby courses worth a go include Bridge of Allen, Dunblane, Alloa and Muckhart.

Our rooms draw inspiration from the elegance of the Victorian period. They are all unique with each drawing its colour scheme from a classic William Morris wallpaper design of the Victorian period. Furnished with hardwood reproduction furniture, they have a definite feel of period luxury. However, they are also equipped with a range of modern comforts including Egyptian cotton bed linen, smart flatscreen televisions, underfloor heating in the bathrooms, silent mini-fridges and WiFi access.

For room reservations from March 2019 – please note that guests reserving rooms on a dinner bed and breakfast rate will benefit from a small discount over standard dinner menu prices. Dinner will include a choice of two courses from the dinner menu (starter/main or main/dessert). Additional courses will attract an additional charge.

Our Orangery Restaurant makes use of our recently rebuilt Victorian conservatory and our elegant main dining room. It offers the chance for guests to take in the beautiful tree-lined Victoria Square or perhaps sit in a more intimate setting. The focus of our food is on quality making use of local produce, with the majority of what we offer made on site.

For 2019 we plan to open the Orangery to provide a fine dining service for resident and non-resident guests.
