The Castle Hotel Invernessshire
The Castle is a traditional highland hotel with modern facilities. Situated in the picturesque village of Portmahomack on the north east coast of Scotland.
Portmahomack is the only west facing village on the east coast of Scotland, which means that we have amazing sunsets. It is also one of the driest places in Scotland and famous for its safe, sandy beach and small harbour designed by Thomas Telford.
We are ideally situated next to Portmahomack Golf Club and just eight miles from Tain Golf Club.
Here at the Castle hotel we have four guest rooms available year round. Each room is named after a popular and local Scottish whisky; Highland Park, Morangie, Dalmore and Grouse, each of which we have available to sample at our bar. The rooms are priced per room per night and includes a full Scottish or vegetarian breakfast for each guest.
Two of our guest rooms, Morangie and Dalmore, have stunning sea views. Each room is equipped with an en-suite shower room with underfloor heating.
The Castle Hotel looks out onto the picturesque Dornoch Firth. Two of our guest rooms are western facing meaning those rooms often over look stunning sunsets.
Here at the Castle Hotel we welcome visitors with both 2 legs and 4 paws. Up to 2 medium sized, well behaved dogs are welcome in all rooms, with the exception of the Highland Park guest room. We require a good housekeeping deposit of £150 payable on arrival if you do wish you bring your dogs. We look forward to welcoming you and your furry friends upon arrival.
UPDATE 16/8/20 – Sadly, despite all previous dog owners having behaved impecably we have had extensive damage to one of our rooms. We therefore insist that dogs are not left alone in the rooms. We are very happy for you have your dog with you in the pub and when dining.
The Castle is a lively dog and family friendly pub with a good selection of spirits, wines and ales, including at least one guest real ale, usually from our local Cromarty, Orkney or Black Isle Breweries.
Food is available every day. Due to staff shortages we are offering our reduced Bar Menu plus daily specials. This is available between 5pm and 8pm Booking is advised.
