The Castle Hotel Inverness-shire

The Castle is a traditional highland hotel with modern facilities. Situated in the picturesque village of Portmahomack on the north east coast of Scotland.

Portmahomack is the only west facing village on the east coast of Scotland, which means that we have amazing sunsets. It is also one of the driest places in Scotland and famous for its safe, sandy beach and small harbour designed by Thomas Telford.

We are ideally situated next to Portmahomack Golf Club and just eight miles from Tain Golf Club.

Here at the Castle hotel we have four guest rooms available year round. Each room is named after a popular and local Scottish whisky; Highland Park, Morangie, Dalmore and Grouse, each of which we have available to sample at our bar. The rooms are priced  per room per night and includes a full Scottish or vegetarian breakfast for each guest.

Two of our guest rooms, Morangie and Dalmore,  have stunning sea views. Each room is equipped with an en-suite shower room with underfloor heating.

The Castle Hotel looks out onto the picturesque Dornoch Firth. Two of our guest rooms are western facing meaning those rooms often over look stunning sunsets.
