The quality of food and menus at the Frenchgate reflect the passion and enthusiasm of all the staff. Care is taken to source ingredients locally wherever possible and all our food is freshly prepared to order. 

Food is at the heart of The Frenchgate. Our Georgian dining room is both relaxed and stylish, with an eclectic mix of traditional oak tables (including Granny Todd’s) and chairs, set on original, fully restored, boards. Sophisticated lighting, fine crockery, cutlery and glassware enhance the contemporary but stylish feel. Our customer comments testify to the excellence of their time spent at The Frenchgate. 

Following your relaxing dinner retire to one of our nine individual guestrooms, all en-suite with bath and / or powerful Swedish showers. You may find your room has a huge 1.5 ton solid oak 4 poster bed, free standing Victorian bath, or an original fireplace, with views down to the river or out over the private gardens. All rooms are individually furnished, comfortable and well equipped. A quiet, restful stay is assured.
