... to Melbourne Lodge, an historic building situated in the magnificent 543-acre Brocket Estate, a place where you’ll enjoy every moment of your stay.

In fine English Country House style, each of the sixteen rooms in Melbourne Lodge is individually decorated to provide a relaxing and luxurious experience whilst staying on the Brocket Hall Estate. Grandly spacious, and furnished with original pieces from the Estate, they are the perfect place to retire to after a wonderful dinner or an exhilarating game of golf.

In keeping with the former use of Melbourne Lodge, as the Estate stable block, each room is named after one of the great racehorses of the day, and a fascinating history of the former ‘residents’ can be found on your arrival. Whether you choose Crepello or Northern Dancer, Nijinsky or Red Rum, our guests always find a favourite to which they look forward to returning again and again.

All the rooms are en-suite, with well-appointed bathrooms, television and telephone, tea and coffee facilities, and complimentary mineral water upon your arrival. The Melbourne Lodge offers 24 hour room service which is to be requested via the Golf Club Reception who will happily make the necessary arrangements.

Today Melbourne Lodge’s most important occupants are its guests. Beautifully restored with 16 luxurious en-suite rooms, all superbly appointed and offering magnificent views over Brocket Hall, the Broadwater Lake and our two championship golf courses. In order to allow you to fully appreciate the Estate’s facilities, we have introduced several exciting Residential Packages enabling guests to enjoy our two fabulous restaurants, and the renowned golf courses themselves.

Auberge du Lac, formerly the Estate’s hunting lodge, now under the guidance of Phil Thompson, Executive Chef. This superb restaurant has gained a national reputation as one of the most interesting out-of-London restaurants in the country. Its famed cuisine and renowned cellar have made it a ‘destination restaurant’ amongst discerning diners.

Watershyppes Restaurant at Brocket Hall Golf Club, under the direction of our Executive Chef, Phil Thompson, has gained a reputation that most restaurants only dream about. Take your aperitif on the terrace, buzzing with the days golfing adventures and dine as the sun goes down over the parkland.
