Braes Retreat is located in the quiet and peaceful crofting community of Peinchorran, 8 miles south of Portree, the capital of the Isle of Skye, on the picturesque east coast of the island, just to the north of the awe-inspiring Red Cuillin mountains.

Staying in Braes Retreat, your most difficult decision will be whether to spend the day around the apartment, enjoying our enchanting garden, watching and listening to the birds at play, or to explore this beguiling island from your central location.

The accommodation within Braes Retreat is perfect for either a couple or two friends as the bedroom can be set up as a double or twin room.

With its homely feel, the apartment is both well appointed and comfortable; providing an ideal base whilst visiting Skye.

The accommodation, which is completely self-contained with its own entrance, adjoins our own home, Glamaig Cottage. We are therefore on hand should you have any queries whatsoever but at the same time the apartment offers truly peaceful and private accommodation.

The property is set within a glorious garden, which has previously featured on television due to the variety of plants and serene tranquillity created by the burn (stream) running through it.

The garden and surrounding area is a haven for much of the indigenous wildlife that Skye has to offer. Birds such as Goldfinches, Siskins, Wrens and Song Thrushes frequent the garden, whilst the surrounding area is home to seals, otters, sea eagles and dolphins to name but a few.

Hence whether your interest is wildlife, history, walking, geology or simply magnificent scenery, the wonders of Skye will not disappoint and at Braes Retreat your stay is made a wholly relaxing and enjoyable experience.
