Even without its historical Club House, the Club would have many excuses for self-congratulation. It is an 18 hole, picturesque parkland course on high ground sloping down to the small River Ingrebourne that meanders its way through the lower part of the course on its way to join the Thames.

In some areas of the course, it is hard to imagine that you are still in suburban London and yet you can stand on the 17th green and see Canary Wharf reaching for the sky.

It was originally laid out in 1928 by the great Harry (H. A.) Colt who is often described as the founder of golf course architecture in Britain. Mr Colt has worked on many courses around the world and closer to home such as, Royal Lytham & St Annes, Royal Portrush, Muirfield, Royal Worlington, Sunningdale and Royal Belfast.

Our mature course has lovely views of the surrounding countryside of Essex and runs gently down to the River Ingrebourne. The Course requires finesse and judgement in recording a good score and on the odd occasion you have the option to open up those shoulders. Psychologically water comes into play drawing the ball towards the river which winds its pretty way.
