For those looking for somewhere relaxing to stay, a surprise find is Wrangham House located in the pretty village of Hunmanby, close to Filey on the east coast of Yorkshire.
Wrangham house is an 18th Century Georgian country house hotel and was formerly the vicarage, with the local church next door. Wrangham House offers comfortable, traditional accommodation and hospitality. It is a family run country house hotel with twelve individually styled rooms, all en suite; it also has two four poster rooms.
There is very comfortable lounge, a cosy sitting room with a well stocked bar, both with log fires in the winter. It stands in two acres of beautiful secluded wooded gardens and the hotel has a private, secure car park at the rear. The dining room has a beautiful formal setting, where the service is friendly and informal, the range of food diverse with a speciality of game dishes. Pheasant, partridge and venison are all on the menu when in season. If you like your food Peter, who is also the chef, makes his own pate and puddings and uses high quality, locally produced fresh produce wherever possible.
You will find Stacie and Peter in the dining room during meal times. Always on the menu as favourites are roast beef, salmon and steaks. All meals are served in our fresh and spacious dining room, overlooking the gardens, complimented by the hotel's excellent selection of reasonably priced wines. Peter also has a private wine collection for the discerning palette together with a selection of champagnes.
