The New Inn at Coln St. Aldwyns lies in the heart of the Cotswolds, between Burford and Cirencester.

Many visitors to the area are escaping the hustle and bustle of city life, although we welcome travellers from all over the world.

There has been an Inn at Coln St. Aldwyns since the time of Elizabeth I's reign. She issued a decree that there should be a coaching inn within a day's travel of every major centre of population for the comfort and security of her subjects. Through the reign of twenty monarchs the Inn has stood the test of time.

Its new owners have recently started a complete refurbishment programme which will be concluded very shortly, whereby the new facility will have everything the modern-day traveller has come to expect.

The newly refurbished rooms (many enhanced by the original beams) now have feature beds, flat screen TVs with DVD players, wireless internet access, hairdryers and tea and coffee making facilities.

The bathroom fittings too have all been upgraded, and the bathrooms are provided with Damana toiletries and large fluffy bathrobes as standard.

We have fourteen bedrooms in all, in a range of different styles from standard doubles to family rooms that sleep four people.

Choose one of the three dining rooms, relax in the Bar by a real fire, or take a seat outside on the South facing Terrace, or even go down to the Orchard overlooking the fields with your glass of real ale or wine - the New Inn is all about having choices.

The Bar has everyone's favourite dishes: home made Steak and Oyster pie with Pan Hagerty; beer-battered Cod with home made fat-cut chips and mushy peas; treacle tart or apple, rhubarb and strawberry crumble with ice cream or custard.

Whether you are having a family gathering, meeting friends for Sunday lunch, or wanting a special anniversary or party celebration, the Restaurant can offer tables for 2 to 8 people, or you can have a room to yourselves seating up to 12-16 people.
