Welcome to the creeper-clad Greyhound Inn which stands in the tucked away village of Staple Fitzpaine and has been extended over the years into a series of rambling, connecting rooms providing a rustic mix of flagstone floors, old timbers and natural stone floors, and walls.

A true haven for leisure seekers but within easy reach of Taunton (5 miles) and a 10 minute drive from the M5 (J25) to appeal to the business visitor.

In our Family run Inn we have 4 en-suite bedrooms which are extremely comfortable and spacious.

They are furnished to a high standard with period furnishings and include hospitality tray,direct dial telephone, flat screen colour TV, trouser press, hairdryer and WI-FI connection.

The bathrooms are well stocked with toiletries.

Hearty full English breakfasts are worth getting up for and are included in your stay.

Guests are assured of a warm friendly welcome from the owners. 

At the Greyhound Inn we specialise in unpretentious pub-food that makes the most of fresh quality produce.

Our menu is full of seasonal flavours. Dishes range from lighter bites to British Classics and beautifully cooked fish and local game.

Our Homemade Pies are a real treat 

Award -winning real ales are kept in fine condition a nd can be enjoyed in the locals bar with its barrel stools and woodburning stove.

A good choice of wine is served by the glass or bottle.

A large range of Malt Whiskies are on offer to finish the meal accompanied with a cup of fresh ground coffee' 

The area offers plenty to see and do.

Ther are seven golf courses within 15 miles of the inn and enjoy a day at the races or shooting in the Blackdown Hills. Or just enjoy a perfect long walk and take in the local scenery ended with the perfect pint curled up in front of a open log fire. In the summer months relax under the pagola with a long glass of refreshing Pimms listening to the trickling waters of the stream washing away all the cares of the day.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the old Churchyard or visit our miniature shetland pony Charlie before retiring for the night. 

Ample seating throughout candle topped tables and open winter fires provide an instant welcome to diners.

If you hear the merry laughter of the Grey Lady in the bar of The Greyhound Inn it just might be the inns resident ghost. There again it could just as easily be the sound of a fellow guest enjoying the warmly welcome atmoshere of the charming Inn. Or should you hear the jingle of keys late at night, its not necessarily the after-effect of the Ale
