The Angel is a beautiful historic coaching inn dating back to 1452, situated in the centre of Bury St Edmunds opposite the Abbey. For over 400 years royal visitors, actors and writers have stayed at The Angel. Charles Dickens wrote part of the Pickwick Papers whilst in residence.

The hotel offers a range of bedroom styles, including four posters, suites and family rooms. Many rooms are air-conditioned and all have teletext, dataport telephone as well as the usual facilities. There are two restaurants: The Abbeygate and The Vaults, situated in the 12th century cellar and said to be part of the ancient Abbey of St Edmundsbury.

The air-conditioned St Edmunds Business Centre is self-contained and there are four further meeting rooms, ideal for smaller meetings or private parties.
