The Royal Hotel, an elegant Grade II listed building with it’s unique gold dome, has been a place of welcome to travellers since the early part nineteenth century. Situated in the heart of the thriving town of Hexham, the hotel dominates the street of Priestpopple.
Built in 1820, the original coaching house was known as the ‘New’ or ‘Low Grey Bull’, eventually to become ‘The Royal Hotel’ in around 1870.
The new owners took over the hotel in early 2008, with a view of returning the hotel to its former glory., with the re-launch of Bar Havana – bar/venue and the introduction of an exclusive Thai restaurant, The Thai Royal Orchid.
The Royal Hotel has 10 tastefully decorated bedrooms on one floor, comprising a selection of standard rooms (Single, Double and family Rooms) . Each of the spacious bedrooms features private en-suite facilities, bright modern deco and new furnishings including work desks. They are fully equipped with direct dial telephone, colour television, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities comes with a great range of convenient facilities.
