Hidden away in the far South Western corner of Wales, Hurst House on the Marsh is an unexpected haven of pleasure and luxury. Surrounded by sea, the Towy estuary and acres of marshland, this remote hideaway has been lovingly restored, combining the charm and character of Dylan Thomas’ homeland with a touch of natural modern glamour.
The hotel first opened its doors in 2001, initially housing an acclaimed restaurant and seven luxury bedrooms. Since then it has evolved into an 18 suite hotel, incorporating an extended restaurant and bar, kitchen gardens, pool, gym and spa as well as a small cinema and a private members only space. The principles at the heart of Hurst House on the Marsh have remained consistent: visitors can enjoy fine food, wine and excellent hospitality in a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere with a unique personal touch.
Hurst House on the Marsh has 18 bedrooms in total designed by interiors specialist Juliet de Valero Wills. The main house has four bedrooms while the recently converted outhouses are home to fourteen spacious suites with a further six individual garden cabins planned. Six of our suites are individual mezzanine rooms with a lounge and bathroom on the ground floor and a luxurious sleeping area upstairs furnished with king-sized beds. Our outhouse comprising four individual suites can accommodate groups of friends and families flexibly. All the suites have enviable views of vast stretches of marshland, whose best features are reflected internally via natural colours, textures and art.
Each room houses a state of the art Bang and Olufsen media kit, incorporating widescreen TV, wireless network and a sophisticated sound and DVD system. Guests can luxuriate in Kohler baths while additional features include powerful Matki walk-in showers and travertine stone floors with under floor heating. Luxurious Frette cotton sheets furnish the beds, while guests can also pamper themselves with natural REN products.
