Golf courses near Hallmark Hotel Irvine

Stay at the Hallmark Hotel Irvine (formerly part of Menzies Hotels) and you’ve a light airy gloriously hospitable base for exploring a remarkable area. It’s a peach of a location. Ayrshire is sporran deep in history with over 40 castles from Blairquhan and Culzean to the nearby ruins of Eglinton, alongside the birthplace of Robert Burns in Alloway. There’s also a bagful of world famous golf courses including Royal Troon, Trump Turnberry and Old Prestwick – home to the first British Open in 1860 – along with islands like Arran and Ailsa Craig, and miles of honey blonde sand (sadly, without a sunshine guarantee!).

You could, of course, also be joining us for business. We’ve a flexible range of state-of-the-art function suites just seven miles from Glasgow Prestwick Airport. Either way our 128 cosy en suite rooms with their tasteful blend of deep browns and warm reds, and those 21st century essentials of warp speed WiFi, 24-hour room service and flat screen TVs, are ready and waiting. There are kings, deluxe twins and 11 family rooms, but whatever your choice you’re guaranteed those Hallmark staples: a supremely comfortable bed with crisp white linen and plump pillows.

Irvine and the surrounding area doesn’t just offer a wealth of attractions and invigorating west coast air however; it also provides fresh local ingredients for our brasserie style restaurant. The Firth of Clyde is particularly generous with red snapper, salmon and prawns. They’re just a few of the raw materials for a menu of modern British and European classics sprinkled with spicy favourites from further afield. Expect everything from beer battered fish and homemade pie of the day to arancini, pork schnitzel and Moroccan style slow cooked lamb or Goan prawn curry.
