The love for the game of golf inspired Jack & Sheena to acquire "The Dunvegan Hotel" in 1994, and have since developed this establishment into a great place to visit in St Andrews. The hotel is located a mere 112 yards from the Old Course, or as our logo implies 'Only a 9-iron from the Old Course' (depending on the wind!!).

Jack a 4th generation Texan (Texas Aggie '72) and his Scottish wife Sheena, both avid golfers, operate the hotel 'hands on". They and their staff offer the very best in friendly, personalised service and really enjoy getting to know their customers and talking golf with them.

The Dunvegan can comfortably sleep 16 golfers, but you don't have to stay here to enjoy the great golfing atmosphere that is automatic when visiting the premises. As one major golf publication writes; "The Dunvegan is truly a golf lover's delight, and when you visit the famous golfer's corner lounge bar, suddenly you are eating and drinking with the ghosts of former open champions. What could be better!"

The bedrooms are finished to a very high standard and includes those "not so little things" such as comfortable beds with firm mattress, our well known "power rain showers", direct dial telephones and colour televisions and we wireless internet friendly.

All rooms have two beds, two with double beds and three with single beds. Additionally a full breakfast is included in the rates and can be prepared early in the morning to meet your golfing requirements.

The Claret Jug Restaurant, named in honour of the famous Open Championship trophy, is a cosy, informal dining room specialising in quality char grilled steaks while offering a variety of other mouth watering dishes including fish, chicken and ever popular rack of lamb. Only the very best in fresh, local produce, prepared daily by our experienced chefs, is utilised in our food offerings.
