A short hop from Edinburgh City Centre (half an hour by car or 18 minutes by train) Ducks at Kilspindie House is nested in the picturesque village of Aberlady, which is a great base when staying in East Lothian. Our coastal location also makes us the perfect base for Golfers, Bird Watchers and Walkers.
Our warm and charming traditional hotel has 23 en-suite bedrooms. Also known as a ‘restaurant with rooms’, we have dining to suit all needs. Duck’s offers Fine Dining with white linen and candles, a Seasonal á la carte menu including seafood, steaks, lobster and an award winning wine list. Donald's is named after Malcolm Duck's father (pre Disney!), is a more informal bistro / diner, incorporating an excellent value bar menu together with a grill and specials board and kids menu. Free Wi-Fi and car parking is also available.
Most rooms can be made into either twins or doubles for single or twin occupancy. We have two single rooms, 20 double rooms and 1 family suite with a double and bunks beds in a separate room. In the rooms we offer Flat screen TV’s with free view channels, En-suite bath /shower rooms, hair-dryers and tea/coffee making facilities. We can offer a laundry service and cots are available on request.
We are a Restaurant with Rooms, so food is really what we do. Duck's Restaurant and Donald's Bistro offer excellent dining opportunities. Ducklings is a very informal coffee shop. There are lounge areas where you can relax with a coffee or watch a sporting game on our two large TV screens.
Scotland's Golf Coast, East Lothian, probably the best concentration of quality golf courses in the world. Twenty two courses within fifteen minutes of the Ducks: ten hosted championships, five Open qualifiers and The Open at Muirfield in 2013. Now Renaissance by Tom Doak and Archerfield’s Fidra and Dirleton courses are making headlines.
