The good drainage on the parkland, lowland heath ground makes the course playable virtually all year round. The greens and fairways are also immaculate and are clearly tended to well by the greens-keepers. A good drive from each of the elevated tees is vital as fearsome rough borders most of the fairways waiting patiently to smother any loose opening shot.
