The Valley Course opened in 1988, and was developed around the natural contours of the Dewstow estate meadowlands. It features many mature trees which have been supplemented with the addition of several thousand new trees, now themselves well established. A par 72, 6091 yards (off the white tees), easy walking course, featuring several ponds supporting a plethora of wild life, including Carp, Damsel and Dragon flies.
It is not unusual to see Buzzards performing slow, lazy circles in the sky over Caerwent throughout the year. Golfers can expect a variety of interesting holes including the par 3, 7th hole, which is approached over water, some 50 feet lower than the tee! Each of the 18 holes has its own name, which in turn reflects the history of the land as it was used in past years for productive farming.
